I've always been confused by the ones who advertise "hey, I am transgender" as a trait of their personality. Like, isn't the whole point of transitioning and expressing as your preferred gender so you won't have to explain this to people? Seems like if you're making a point of it, it's to mask some other, larger insecurity.
The ones who don't advertise it are the ones who are making an actual attempt at passing as their preferred gender, and likely don't even have to explain this to people they aren't actively pursuing in a romantic relationship.
