When Ka-Zar beats T'Challa -- T'Challa officially becomes a Defeated King and he doesn't want to walk down the path of darkness and revenge that the Defeated do.. but he might have to in order to vanquish their presence in the world.
CLASSIC super-hero replacement arc and hero confronting their own darkside. I don't think T'Challa's had that kind of story yet. While this is going on, I also explore Ka-Zar as a character and how him being Black Panther changes things in the Wakanda in the general super hero community.
It's not like this happens all the time in comics, in fact this story is a commentary on those type of stories and how it's necessary for the heroes to lose and suffer defeat in order to become stronger heroes.
Marvel will get shit on by the media. "WHY IS BLACK PANTHER A WHITE GUY!?!" would be screamed all over social media, but that just drives sales and interest to the story. The same story that gets told with every other super hero. And that, in the end, usually adds to the heroes mythos. Like Beta Ray Bill, Scarlett Spider, USAgent... There are always replacement versions.
