As someone new to /co/ why are comic books and cartoons put together? their nothing alike and it feels weird seeing people talk about the Flash and then Apu from the Simpsons. sorry if this is stupid

Never going to happen. People have been making threads calling for a split (usually it's from comicfags) throughout the past, but obviously they didn't work. The threads just get deleted, and life moves on.

Manga get a fuckton of anime adaptations. If a series is even semi-popular, chances are it's going to get adapted at some point. The same can't be said for comics
Most threads about those series are 90% manga discussion anyways (excluding the day an episode airs), not really a point in splitting them up into two boards

That's why it needs to be split. Manga gets buried under the anime torrent. The vast majority of manga also never gets adapted. It would be good to have a place devoted solely to it.

It is the exact opposite, look at pic related.
Manga discussion for a series is fairly consistent year-round while anime discussion only lasts as long as a given season. Even during a season you have a ton of discussion about what's currently going on in the manga.
