>>112063638>because this is a fight. We're talking about the characters fighting. It's assumed they know they're in a fight...and he has fought metaphysical concepts and ideas before. I'm sorry mate, but Judy is nothing special when it comes to DC.If it's 'fight', then Supes gets the timeline rewritten around him with a contemptuous ease.
>Yes because Superman has never fought and beat evil Superman before. Or magic Superman. Or alternate Superman. Or Superman designed to be better than Superman in every way. Oh wait.Your doppelganger isn't something you exchange blows with. If that were the case, then Cooper could've simply decked the damn thing and been done with it. Instead, we see what happens when it actually makes contact with him, and it completely traps him within the Lodge for well over a decade once it does, as it goes joyriding with his body.
>because Superman is metaphysical as well. Metaphysical, magical, Gods, xth dimenson, he's fought and beat all of it. He is EXACTLY the kind of character that would beat what Judy is. Its his entire purpose. You kind of ignore that most of the godly entities Superman faces involve some kind of really neat weakness that once figured out, completely invalidates their power. Like, May for example. Supes can't do shit to Mxy in any physical confrontation, but get him to say his name backwards and he's gone. Or any of Darkseid's avatars that throw down with the League. Sure, Superman can *eventually* wear them down, but most of the time he needs help to get that far, and most versions of Darkseid can smack the League about like redheaded stepchild. Or the Oblivion Shadow eating the Metaverse, which had to be stopped by pretty much dispersing the thing. Or that time when the Fifth Horseman scared him out of his fucking mind when he saw it coming in Doom Patrol. And so on and so forth.
Superman often wins his battles against metaphysical threats by outsmarting them and damaging them with a weakness. Not by blows.
