Zim fandom was middle-school kids. They acted stupid and immature but grew out of it and didn't go far beyond the type of shit you expect from 13-year-olds.
Pony fandom were mentally-ill men, nerds, losers, pedophiles, trannies, and everything that went with it. The tranny component is important, because trannies live on the Internet and never leave, so they always influence everything they're involved in disproportionate to their numbers.
