>>111905961That's probably true. Back then in the 2000's I was a teenager, and Webcomics felt subversive, and cool because they did a lot of different things that I hadn't seen in comic form at the time. Especially ones that defied the culture of the time.
You had porn based comics, edgy as hell comics full of blood and gore and tits, Calvin and Hobbes ripoffs, gag-a-day style comics, Drama comics, and anything else that was a mixed bag. I remember reading Exploitation Now, Sinfest, Penny Arcade, Mac Hall, 8 Bit Theater, College Roomies From Hell, and all sorts of shit in between.
Right now I'm just old, and I don't like my comics preaching at me. I mostly just keep up with Penny Arcade, Whomp, Order of the Stick, [Un]Divine, aaand thats about it.
