They can't write something happy and fun because the world looks horrible to them now, and they misconstrue this realization as maturity.
But people who discovered the world's negativity earlier in life know that there's a phase after this, where you learn to still have fun. Rather than letting the world weigh you down, you learn to counteract it. The author of this post thinks themselves mature, but they're really just contending with the problems most people work through during childhood.
Thankfully, they'll probably finally grow up by the time they're 30 or 40.
