>>111844683Just 5 really. There's isn't that much continuity between the episodes, aside from the beginning and end of the story they could mostly go in any order and are basically self-contained and great action adventure show stuff.
The ending just kind of felt like it wanted to do something dramatic and "final" just because, not really because it was a necessary step, and it went about it in a bit of a cheap way. If it had been the actual ending of the show then sure, it goes out on a somewhat cliche but suitable note, although you'd probably restructure the episode a bit in that case. But with more coming a nebulous time into the future and almost nothing known about it, it's an unsatisfying conclusion and I'm not sure it can made satisfying. If
Fang doesn't die then it feels like a cheap cliffhanger into a copout, if
she does die then it's kind of a sour note to start the next chapter with and the loss of a significant part of the draw of the show that I doubt they'll be able to recapture perfectly.
The angle I'm hoping for is something along the lines of
the black goo brings her back, but a bit more violent and bloodthirsty. She still knows Spear and doesn't forget the development and learning to work together they did over these episodes, but it causes some conflict with her already bestial nature and Spear's primitive empathy and wanting to avoid unnecessary suffering, but I know that now that I've thought about stuff like that if it's too similar I'll be disappointed for not surprising me, and if it isn't I'll be thinking about whether it would have been better if it had been how I wanted. I'm just going to wait.
As far as the actual episode goes I don't really have many complaints. Fang didn't get done justice in the fight, and I'd have appreciated another little bit of interaction on the beach, but it's mostly just meta stuff. I'd probably still rank it last, but as like an 8.7/10 instead of 9.
