Although, to be fair, a lot of Stu's toys were duds. Impressive, but either buggy or straight up dangerous, so it probably wasn't a constant inward flow of money as much as it was sporadic paydays on his best ideas. Still more respectable than being a pencil pusher.
As a side note, Tommy is such a disappointment when you consider his dad. Dil is weird, but he might actually have the eccentric genius gene too.
