>>111728594I don't get /co/'s stance on this guy.
So elves come to kill the king of Katolis in retribution for their own king's death. Viren in response wants to declare war against the elves. /co/ is heavily divided, with a large portion in Viren's favor.
Now the elves (it appears) show up in other human nations to kill their kings too, largely unprovoked. Two kingdoms are beheaded and this kid's dad is put out of commission. Now everyone is baying for elven blood and this kid steps up, obviously striking while the fire is hot and setting himself up to become emperor, and takes charge of the angry mobs, uniting 3 (three!) Kingdoms under him. He comes to Katolis, hoping to get them and become truly unstoppable, and finds their boy king to be a naive fool. And here people say he was foolish for trying to fight Katolis, but remember he was just going to fuck off initiatally, but then had his secret meeting with the councilman and Viren. They clearly hatched a plan to bluff Ezran into backing down, knowing he was too empathetic to actually fight them even if he could win, and it worked perfectly.
And yet after all this deft maneuvering /co/ seems to unanimously hate the guy, despite being even more legitimate than Viren in his greivances. Why? Because his dad wasn't killed? So should he have just went "oh you just TRIED to murder my dad, I'll just let you off with a warning!"
His only real fuck up was trusting the dark mage after his own son hesitated to let him use his fucked up magic on him. He was clearly trying to show the bravado soldiers love in a general, but didn't realize just how bonkers Viren really was. Can you really blame him? We didnt even think Viren was that crazy yet.
