>>111683536this actually reminds me why I don't want Suki/Sokka to be end game. They're teenagers who hooked up during a chaotic war. Having them be soul mates or something and not a pair that grow apart due to living different lives and in different parts of the world is imo simplistic and boring.
I don't demand realism from my fiction or excessive drama, but I do find 'everyone ends the story neatly paired up' extraordinarily eye rolling. Goes with Mai and Zuko too.
I actually respect the fact they never had Toph end up with anyone, though the execution of it was a bit 'eh'.
