I went on their "Germans Love David Hasslehoff" trope page recently and was pissed off by how inaccurate most of the ones for Japan were. They'd pick any cartoon that had one or two fanartists and based on the sole idea of fanart or a doujin anthology existing they'd say the Japanese loved it. An example of this would be Superjail; only a couple of cartoon otaku in Japan have any fucking idea what that show is, it's never had a dub and only a couple of eps you can even find subbed. But because Japanese fanart exists some TV Tropes retards think everyone there loves it.

The "Dethroning Moment" and "Nightmare Fuel" pages are a shitload more tolerable if you're reading entries pertaining to more adult works.

"Dethroning Moment" has some good entries on shitty shows like Law & Order SVU, for example, but when you get to cartoons, it all devolves into childish whining.

She keep this infatuation till college (when I met her) and one day show me how she have made a trope page for, with the main page, nightmare fuel, tearjerker, all that. She really likes him and have sketchbook dedicated for fanart of that character and it's world.
Some good do comeout of it. She eventually contacted them, meet the teacher behind the website, and work part time for them as a translator. Her obsession got less severe as she grew older.

The new movie Parasite for example has a scene where a rich mom roleplays with her husband as a pair of degenerates with the mom playing the character of a coked up druggie. This is taken as solid proof that she in fact does drugs when the movie makes it clear that is absolutely not the case when in her life she is so removed from everything with her wealth and privilege that drugs are worthless far below her and worthy only of the poor. But since the autistic who wrote the article thinks differently, time to make a 2 minute roleplay scene her defining moment.

Tried editing that shit and somewhere along the line, TvTropes made it so you had to make an account to edit pages. Fuck signing up.

Troper Tales legitimately could have been used to write thesis papers on abnormal psychology. The problem was that too many people in the Cringe fandom focused on the same tired examples over and over, or on ones that, while definitely bullshit, weren't THAT impossible (Like the guy who said he pulled out a sword on a burglar.
