>>111549964The idea of Merida and company having to deal with Nessie could be the plot of an entirely separate movie, or at least an animated short.
>I'm extremely curious to see the footage they rendered of the original storyline which was supposed to take place during the winter.I wonder if they scraped the winter setting because of Frozen, which came out a year after.
>>111550221Nice argument.
>>111550228>merida is based because she is full of flaws. same as ariel.I'd argue Merida had a better reason to fuck with magic than Ariel. Merida felt her freedom was in jeopardy and wanted a way out, while Ariel wanted legs so she could chase after a guy. Still, you have a point. One of the reasons I like Merida is that she isn't infallible; she's hot-headed and stubborn, prone to making rash choices and can come across as rude and uncouth. She truly was and still is a breath of fresh air when it comes to Disney Princesses. The based Celt is based.
>compare anna and elsa, who aren't allowed to do anything wrong on purpose so their whole movie is full of wacky misunderstandingsAnd why don't people attack Elsa the same way they do Merida for allowing her powers to get out of control and jeopardize the entire kingdom? Why do people brush it off with "Oh, she was misunderstood" and "Oh, she felt victimized" but with Merida it's like "She did everything wrong and should have terrible things happen to her with no room for any redemption at all"? They were both irresponsible, but Elsa's actions (which were arguably worse) are all forgiven and she's seen as a role model despite being an autistic shut-in who sung an entire song about how good it is to be an autistic shut-in. Meanwhile, Merida goes out of her way to fix every fuck-up she made and yet people are still saying "hurr durr ungrateful cunt XD".
