>>111454696Truthfully, it seems more likely to me she'll be in a Diamond-centric episode.
Steven is in a bad place. The cracks are beginning to show. So he looks up the only people who can know what he is going through after brushing off everyone on Earth (which makes him only feel worse) - the Diamonds. But the Diamonds, while happy to see him, don't get it either. Spinel is there every time - she plays around them like a pet, and because she is 'spread out' over three of them they never get tired of her. She can tell he is in a bad place, and it turns out she is the only one who gets it; because of all beings in the universe, she is most like Pink Diamond.
They have a heart to heart which culminates - of course - in her singing a song to him; a song she wrote in her head while she was waiting for Pink.
During the six thousand years she waited, she went through every possible scenario. She imagined thousands of different lifetimes, endless possibilities, endless reasons why Pink might not come back. She imagined her scared, trapped, injured, maybe even imprisoned.
Thinking of Pink being sad made her sad, so she made up a song to sing to her to comfort her. She sang it to herself many times over the centuries, but Pink never got to hear it.
Now Steven gets to hear it.
But it does not comfort him, it just reminds him again that no matter what else he might be, he will always be Pink Diamond.
The Diamonds, alarmed, rush in to find Spinel, alone and sobbing. Next episode the crisis really comes to a head and we get Dragon Steven.
This is why I could never be a writer. It's just too much schmalz.
