>>111265767>A selfie is a poorly shot photo from a phone. That's totally different than a professional camera and self-shooting. Any photographer would tell you that.Actually a big part of Peter getting hosed by JJJ is because his pictures of the Spider-man are usually pretty shit because he's shooting with a short focal length lens to try to get as close as he can to an infinite depth of field so the shot will always be in focus and he has no way to line up a shot. The camera is just shooting off the timer and what he gets is what he gets and he often has to zoom in a lot to crop the shot so it looks good resulting in a very grainy image.
Robbie would criticize Peter for relying on the shitty pictures he takes of Spider-man when his non-Spidey photography is actually quite good. Peter would make excuses like it's hard to take pictures when you're dodging debris from the fights but the negatives show all the shots are taken from the same stationary location with a wide angle lens.
He's even had fights where the only shots he gets are of someone's foot or hand because he wasn't able to move the fight where his camera was pointing. Peter's selfies are not professional quality at all and he gets shit on for it.
JJJ isn't telling Peter his work is shit because he doesn't want to pay him for it. He's telling him his Spidey pics are shit because they are shit.
It's why he uses his uncle's old modified 35mm Leica, because that camera has very good optics on its wide angle lens (why it's still preferred by street photographers) and using film lets him zoom in on the photo more than it would with a digital camera, the downside is zooming in on 35mm film will make the photos grainy but at least they won't be pixelated like zooming in on a digital picture.
