Personally I don’t think Mordecai and Rigby’s placement is all that accurate
Rigby was definitely irresponsible, lazy, and self-centered but he’s nowhere deserving enough to be on Shake’s level or more than Hades. He genuinely cares about his girlfriend and his friends deep down even when he’s an asshole to them, and tried to better himself by finishing high school
He also doesn’t suffer that much compared to Mordecai. Bad things happen to him but it doesn’t seem to affect him much compared to the rest of the cast
Meanwhile, Mordecai suffers heavily from self-doubt and depression (suffering), but also fucked himself over girl wise and has done some fucked up shit like killing Rigby in that one episode, which was admittedly a heat of the moment spur he regretted instantly (deserved)
