So if it isn't flagrantly in the face of the public, as this show completely isn't, then they're not going to be interested no matter how many times they hear "it's literally the best thing ever made". People for the most part only care about the validation that comes from knowing many other people are participating rather than actually listening to an opinion that something is good or bad.
This is an (anecdotal) experiment I conduct whenever I get a chance. I tell people something like a movie, restaurant, or brand of salsa is the best and they won't fucking act on it until five or so other people tell them the same thing. If they hear the same opinion multiple times, they'll act on it otherwise a single lone opinion means shit to them no matter how well it's articulated. Other times I'll ask them if I told them something was the best, would they act on it and the answer is just outright no because for some reason they just don't give give any weight to anybody's opinion that anything is the best of anything.
Like, we all know 99% of everything is shit. If someone is going out of their way to say they have a hold of something in the 1% why in the fuck would you completely disregard that opinion because even if they're off the mark how much off are they? Even if they're 20% wrong and it's not the best that's still something better than the 80% of shit out there.
