In fact if she and Sollux just let him fuck off he probably would have just left and confronted Vriska at the top of the meteor anyway. Sollux initiates the duel and even threatens to kill Eridan 'for good' after making the mistake of leaving him alive after their previous duel that Eridan lost which Feferi has no compunctions to stop, she lets this shit ride and so does Karkat and Kanaya.
Hussie says a lot of shit but showing always trumps telling and what he showed was an over dramatic Draco Malfoy knockoff going full school shooter mode after being isolated for so long. The pressure cooker of coming off a long game where he was hounded and hunted in his own planet, waiting for inevitable death by Bec Noir, the death of Aradia's robot form, rejection from Rose coupled with the destruction of his computer for outlets, it's really no wonder he lost hope for everything and said 'fuck it'.
That said he didn't kill Sollux despite the opportunity to do so, this all started as a duel to the death he had the courtesy to not finish. Feferi jumping in looked like the last straw and Kanaya was reaching for her own weapon in the aftermath but visibly hesitated because of the Matriorb. I don't think either death was fully motivated by limitation or hatred of the sex but because he killed two female characters slapping him with an 'incel' tag just seems easy. Likewise Eridan always was friendly with Karkat and he didn't make any threatening moves like Kanaya which is probably why he was left alive; it pays to befriend the school shooter in this instance.
