Powers that come from the body can at least stay in the realm of plausibly believably though, because it's easier to swallow that they're a mutation of the body. Even other telekinesis-like powers such as Magneto's can be pretty believable because at least his powers are pretty focused on one element, like you can believe he's releasing magnetism from his body. "Extremely specific telekinesis for molecules that are conveniently weather-related but absolutely nothing else." is just bizarre though.

Electromagnetism is probably the least narrowly defined power there is outside of "reality warping." Magneto is effectively able to do anything since that's one of the fundamental forces of physics.

I can't believe you seriously picked EM as your example for "focused on one element." It's difficult even coming up with what EM *doesn't* cover. It's generally believed even EM and gravitational force are ultimately the same thing which will one day be explained in terms of a unified mechanism in the same way EM did for electricity and magnetism or electroweak did for EM and the weak force.

Doubtful. There are people chasing the unified theory but there are so many problems in the way. When they say incompatible they mean it. The biggest problem i see is that gravity is continuous and has to be, quantum mechanics and the 3 other forces are very quantized. Putting the two together is going to take a reworking of both systems

Correction, I don't read X-Men comics.
Still, I've seen most of the adaptations, the 90's cartoon, Evolution, the movies, not once do they call her anything other than Storm.
Even when Charles left the school to her after Jean Grey atomized him, she was just Storm.

It's actually makes more sense than other do-anything powers, it just works retroactively.
If I used a power to summon a hotdog to my hand, I'd either have break a lot of laws of physics to just make it appear, or at least pull it from somewhere else.
With probability control the universe will just make subtle changes to the chaos of the thousands of events that make up our daily lives so as to take the path of least resistance to the end result of me getting a hotdog.

I mean, I believe its based on the fact that that spiders can detect movement in the air through the sensitive hairs on their body, so they can react to something heading towards them before it hits. The part where it really doesn't make sense are the times where it lets Peter feel that some people are in trouble.

So not all telekinesis is the same.

Musical ability doesnt mean you can play every single instrument, you have an affinity for rhythm so you go into percussion, big lungs so you go into flute or trumpet. Or maybe you have a better ear for the lower registers so you get into double bass.

Ororo can sense atmospheric pressure variables and their composition so thats what she can manipulate.
