>>110898405"knows his shit" is hardly a convincing argument. You're letting yourself be fooled by how close his style is to the show's while forgetting the show's style is fairly simple and easy to adapt. Take some Ultra drawings from years ago and the lack of sizeable progress would tip you on just how little of his shit he actually knows. To begin with there's no distinction or variation within his style, it's literally all the exact same no matter what series he is drawing for, he isn't flexible in the least, even less so when it comes to anatomy, proportions, poses, expressions or characters.
He can copy aesthetics well, as you can see from posts like
>>110898035 but that's basically all I can give him along with clean lines. As if that wasn't bad enough he falls back on the exact same patters every single time, to the point where the more you look the more you feel like you've seen all he has to offer. It's not for nothing that despite his ""talent"" he hasn't completed a single major artistic project in years and drops out from everything he begins, including commissions. I hate him for shitting up TLH threads but even if I didn't the truth of the matter remains that he is very lacking as an artist and the thing he lacks most is the discipline to better himself.
tl;dr: he's the definition of wasted potential and you shouldn't think otherwise just because his art seems high-level (it isn't).
