It's very comfy, there's not a single unlikeable character, but it can be serious very well too. The characters really drive the show, and I think that's completely intentional. Matt Braly (the creator) said that the characters determine the success of a show, and they seem to be the most nuanced thing about the show.
If you like good characters, this is great for that. You'll probably immediately not like Polly, but she'll grow on you, trust me.
