He bailed on that show in the first season too. VRV has their own Muto running Bravest Warriors and their just copying AT but in space. Main character is another Finn copy who gets his heart broken by a PB ripoff going Lesbian for Squid-Alien Marceline.
Pendelton doesn't stick around with any project he creates. He makes a pilot/sandbox then lets everyone else shit in it while he goes off to build another one. It's sad because ironically every person he's hired like Sugar, Hirsch, Quintel, etc have bigger spines and dedication to their shows than he does.
Sugar got CN to bend the knee to Netflix style Bomb/binge formats instead of the normal seasonal/weekly schedule so she could do it on her own schedule/procrastinate to the last minute. She also told Zuke to fuck off when Zuke's behavior started screwing with Sugar's money/narrative on top of pushing the LGBTQ+ narrative in her panels/interviews when CN told her to tone it down. She's gone on record saying that if CN doesn't let her do SU her way, she'll pack it up and go to Netflix or Amazon Prime while putting CN on notice for all the -isms.
Hirsch refused a third season of Gravity Falls because he did not want Disney breathing down his back/executive meddling. After GF he ran to Fox hoping to create another Family Guy on his own schedule but Disney bought them out so it's an ironic full circle on him.
Quintel actually networked to get Tyler the Creator on the show, blocked exec fuckery in S2+, and pulled a Sugar saying that if he didn't get his last season/movie his way then he'd go to Netflix and make bank without CN.
Pendelton helped all of them when they were just no name interns and yet they put their foot down harder than he ever has in a career longer than all of their careers combined.
