>>110825362While Hopkins has some interesting ideas, the barrel wasn't one of them. The logistics of something like that working is just bloody retarded. Why bother to travel to a specific spot to dump a body when near anywhere else would be less likely to be investigated. Two miles in either direction and a 10 foot ditch would be a better hiding spot. Oh look, a giant pair of fuck off silos in an area that likely isn't zoned for any. That won't tip off any conspiracy nut that likes looking at satellite photos/out of place building installations, especially with the incredibly smart decision to leave the top uncovered. Even ignoring that, as I believe this was written a couple decades ago, the scent from a charnel pit like that would waft for bloody miles. I can also imagine how well it would go over for every missing person to be transported there. Better hope the governor on the opposite coast stops killing hookers because the cost of travel is getting a bit prohibitive, but hey, them's the rules.
>>110827252It's a tad retarded. That's not even including the "...there is no pushing and shoving, no competition" line. Motherfucker, competition is literally a fundamental aspect of the evolutionary process. Niches don't form according to some grand plan and those that fill them aren't just slotted in like a puzzle piece. Also, see invasive species for the whole "balance" argument. Nature isn't guided toward some magical harmony with all things. It's a series of events where those most fit to survive in a specific niche do so, often at the cost of other living things.
