>>110745472You know, I think this is one of the most underrated reoccurring gags in homestar, and I really cant think of any other show that's done something like this. I remember as a little kid, there used to be objects that would make me so uncomfortable that I'd hide them in rooms or closets and just try my best to avoid that closet or room so I didnt have to look at the thing, which of course only made the thing scarier in my mind.
Probably my best memory of this was this bizarre poorly made mural of a bear that was on the basement wall of my childhood home when we moved in. It was clearly not drawn by anyone who knew how to draw a bear, st or it has weird human proportions. For some reason, the bear was holding a stopwatch up and appeared to be screaming at the viewer. It made me so uncomfortable as a kid that I never wanted to even go into the basement. Eventually my parents painted over the mural, which I'm kind of disappointed of now because I dont think a single photo of it exists.
Anyways, I remember feeling this way about this mural, and the jibblies demon is the only piece of fiction that properly captures the feeling.
