>>110669352This. Going as far back as Snow White, WDAS films have always had substance and effort put into their films. This even applies today, but most moviegoers nowadays only stick with Disney because of brand recognition rather than actual artistic merit.
Most other animation studios since have put all their focus into comedy, specifically kids’ comedy, specifically JUVENILE kids’ comedy. This is why pruny old crones and 30-something parents who proudly take their kids to watch the latest live-action remake from Disney are the same kinds of people who dismiss any and all animated films as childish, family-friendly “cinematic fast-food,” be it from Pixar, Sony Animation, or—*heaves*—Illumination.
