>>110608681>Vaccines are only 93-95% effective>herd immunity requires around 97% of a community to be vaccinated>many are unable to be vaccinated due to allergies and such, as well as people who are immunocompromisedpicture this: a class of 26 kids. 10 of the parents buy into the bullshit about autism, or the bullshit about heavy metals always being dangerous no matter what. Let's call these children A-J.
The family of child G goes abroad, and in so doing, they're exposed to the measles virus. Of course, the parents were vaccinated, so they're fine, and the child doesn't immediately show symptoms. They go home, and the next day, child G goes to school again.
Child G now exposes children A-J to the virus, and all of them catch it because the measles is hella contagious. Child P also catches the virus because the vaccine didn't take. Child T ALSO catches the virus, because he's deadly allergic to one of the ingredients. He ends up in the ICU. Child Y, meanwhile, seems fine. She goes home, and while she's safe from the virus, she sneezes, and in so doing, her grandfather, who's in chemotherapy for prostate cancer, also goes to the ICU. So you've got 12 children infected by measles and an elderly person, ALL because 2 parents decided 'It's OUR choice whether or not to vaccinate and the risks of the vaccine are totally higher than the virus.'
There are ZERO LAWS in place FORCING children to be vaccinated. This is true. If a parent wants to not vaccinate their kids, they're not going to lose them. However, there are also no laws in place against, say, drinking alcohol. However, once you're inebriated, you present a threat to society, and thus, you're not allowed to go out and drive under the influence. Equally do mandatory vaccination laws mean that if you choose not to vaccinate(and you can definitely choose not to), you can't then send your child to public school or into public play areas - after all, they have no right to infect other children either.
