That's because their main shtick was being child actors when they were under 10. The cartoon was from that era where they weren't really relevant anymore, but still managed to have a "resurgence" in their high school years just through name recognition.

Mary-Kate and ashley were actors for literally as long as they could remember. They existed in the public eye as child stars, and were probably sick of acting by their teenage years. I can't blame them for quitting and going into fashion.

The Movie Nights channel on YouTube did a few episodes on their films, and it's really obvious just how drained they were by the time they got to high school. Their later stuff is pathetic, in the disturbingly sad way.
