Because Diana was basically wallpaper in most episodes she doesn't have anything really negative associated with her, but since she is also used to fill the roles of Hank and Sheila on occasion she gets the benefits of their traits without wearing out her welcome. Honestly the format works well enough that you could simply reboot as is, though you'd probably want to add additional overarching plotlines and have a more organic involvement of Dungeon Master in the stories.
I had an idea for a new series that starts out like a reboot with new characters but slowly reveals that it's actually a sequel set the real world number of years after the end of the original series.
