Since this thread is about Jaune, remember when his mentor and arguably closest friend/love interest fucking died and he doesn't really care? Sure, we got like 2 scenes where they say that he's sad, one where he trains by himself and one where he looks at a statue of her, but he got over her pretty fucking quickly, especially since he's now prancing around wearing her molten down armor.
You know that time when Qrow got really depressed and was basically unable to function for half a season (which also neatly and quickly just goes away after a motivating speech)? Yeah that should've been Jaune, but as a long and real character arc. He shouldn't be out here looking like a fucking banana salad, all smiles, he should be going nuclear, already being a demon. I mean, imagine if instead of just doing nothing he would basically shut down with only revenge and habit driving him therefor actually making him more distinct, imagine him going home actually being interesting instead of just a gag for a few scenes and a midway stop, like, his sister or his teammates trying to playfully tease him like they used to, only to see that he just brushes it off with "yeah, sure" or doesn't even respond, imagine finally showing emotion when he meets cinder, only for it to be bitterness and anger and then finally killing or helping to kill Cinder only to find out that it doesn't make him feel better. You know, actual story arcs and characters being more than "playful and sarcastic, but serious when the situation requires it" + 1 adjective If they're feeling ambitious (cowardly for Blake, bratty for Weiss etc.)
