>>110290877The problem with the villains in Nu Ducktales is that it's rather hard for the showrunners to find the sweet spot between "silly" and "threatening." We talk about Antigones as a big fan of Darkwing Duck, but the thing is that the big villains (Fearsome Five, Steelbeak/F.O.W.L., Taurus Bulba) never really had a point where you saw them become, well, "hobbies" for Drake in the way Scrooge and Co. treat more or less every one of their major enemies.
>>110292283He's just Lord Hater as a duck instead of an undead space monkey with no Wander and Peepers to play off of. The Duke Baloney episode admittedly was a nice way to reconcile the Scottish Glomgold with the actually South African part (especially since it actually presented Scrooge's way of doing things as juuust a bit flawed) but he should've stayed closer to how he was handled in the pilot (recall he actually got close to killing off Scrooge).
>>110289048>>110288661>>110295780>>110289298>LenaI say a problem with Lena is that she's actually a rather interesting character in her own light whose nature as a creation of shadow who's more or less Magica's bastard child makes her waayy too out of bounds with Nu-Tales' style to do her justice. She was even more or less killed off but we didn't much if any signs of Webby mourning her until it needed to come up in an episode.
>DellaShe's also a character who's way too out of bounds with Nu Tales' style to be done justice. She has no husband or even a boyfriend, more or less abandoned her children for herself (which Scrooge enabled) and just struts
>>110288264Part of the problem is that the show kept both Launchpad AND Fenton when both were stand-ins for Donald to begin with (Launchpad tagging along in the Son of Sun episodes, Fenton in Donald's place during Trala-La).
>>110290298If you mean Scrooge having a way younger assistant ala Smithers and Burns, IIRC some comics give one.
