>>109751656No. I was born in '86, and raised Christian, but I think I got a lot more of the jokes watching reruns as an adult so I don't mind having not seen it as a kid. Some things are just better when you're an adult.
Oddly enough they didn't seem to mind me watching Seinfeld with them, at first, until one day I embarrassed my mom when I told her in front of one of her friends that it was about to come on. “You let him watch Seinfeld?”, she asked her.
Come to think of it, I don't think it was so much that they wouldn't let me watch Simpson's as much it just wasn't something they watched themselves on a Sunday night. Usually we'd either be at evening service, watching a movie, or watching Lois & Clark around that time.
A bit off track, but I remember when they stopped letting me watch Ren & Stimpy (it was after the Jack Liquor episode). Recently, in a fit of nostalgia I started watching Farm Hands and was thinking “okay, now I get why my parents didn't want me watching this show.”
>webm related>>109752053>MST3KThe Joel episodes are mostly family-friendly, but I remember getting in trouble once after showing a friend the ‘Santa Clause Conquers the Martians’ episode where Crow sang “I'll have to smash your kneecaps if you bastards touch my car” in his rendition of ‘Let's Patrick Swayze Christmas’ when his mom was in the room.
