Remember when Wolverine who'd led the squad and is a pretty sociopathic kind of guy himself actually stood up to Cyclops and said this is driving the kid crazy and it's not right and who are you to order these people dead and why not just send me, and Cyclops basically said OH YOU WOULD SAY THAT, YOU'RE A MURDERER! and thought that was a good comeback?
Remember when neither of them thought they could trust anybody but themselves despite being pretty goddamn close to a whole lot of literal superheroes who, you know, they trusted just about every other day and so all the murders went unreported and I guess SHIELD just wrote it off as the Punisher or the Hand or something?
Mutants aren't shitty people. The X-Men, who are locked into this destructive cult siege mentality, are absolutely shitty people. They need to be disbanded, permanently. Just come up with something else to do with mutants. Come up with some other way of using them, but for fuck's sake don't make it another Magneto dresses like Billy Corgan and pretends to solve crimes book or another attempt to redeem the Classic X-Men™ because we're all fucking sick of them and they don't make good stories.
