Apparently, Marvel is bringing back 2099 FOR ONE MONTH this November.

It'll start it Amazing Spider-Man #33-35 and run into 2 issues called "2099 Alpha" and "2099 Omega". Then there'll be one-shots for Fantastic Four 2099, Doom 2099, Punisher 2099, Venom 2099, Spider-Man 2099, Ghost Rider 2099, and (of all things) CONAN 2099 (!!!).

IIRC, Fantastic Four 2099 was about the Fantastic Four traveling to the future and getting stuck when their time machine broke. Lasted only a handful of issues before getting cancelled.

It's basically a "cyberpunk setting/world", but it's also not really relevant to any of the series except for Ghost Rider 2099.

It's not really related to any X-Men "possible futures". I think it basically assumes all that shit either never happens or that ever "possible future" in Marvel (including the 2099 line) are "alternate timelines".

That's pretty much it, unlike in DC, there is no canon future in Marvel because that would limit writers too much. It's why there's so many different mutually contradictory futures, many of which have already been confirmed to not happen due to events in the present contradicting them.
In fact, I'm pretty sure that Marvel 2099 was already ruled out as a possible future years ago.

I’m excited but not really for apparently retconning Captain America/Thor and having mind controlled female Cap. It also seems they changed up Hulk and took away his monster face and spines and gave him an extra finger. Also Bloodhawk looks brown instead of Red and Purple.

Not really, there are X-Men 2099 but they’re different people, no Xavier. The main storyline is that they’re no more superheroes and corporations have become gigantic and have taken over the country complete with their own standing armies/mechanized mercs/police force
