>>109570782I was going to argue there's probably a character like what you described but I can't think of any, and I sort of see why. In the trailer she was crazy as hell and pulling off stretchy wild powers that made her look more like a 1920's character, force of nature characters like that don't have plans or goals, they're "Chaos", you know, they do random shit for the story to go the way you want, they don't have reasoning to them.
But on the other hand, this one obviously had a reason, a goal and something she's doing, maybe more a sentry role. But sentries are always emotionless obelsks or stone cold like the guardian in Samurai Jack, they're meant to be stoic and impassable.
I genuinely cannot think for the life of me any other character who has a direct goal like that that's easy and straightforwards to understand, is absolutely wild and laughing and having a good time, and isn't the same copy-paste villain role that was pretty warn out by the time Princess rolled onto the scene in Powerpuff Girls. Like that would have been a legit first and it would've been pretty unique for Steven to fight. Not emotionless so he's not going up against a robot, but he doesn't care what she says and just fights him because she has a job to do. She doesn't even explain it, why would she? She doesn't need to exposit who she is or why she's there by going 'Oh yes, it is I!' while everyone gasps and gives her backstory. You can even say its a homage to 1920's characters who were silent, they spoke with actions.
So yeah, long story short I agree with you, the villain in the trailer would have been a genuine first. Oh well, another one of those is fine I guess, maybe the action will be good.
