>>108960318>Nothing, the comic is better, or at least counting the arcs shared by both. The first Arc is bad in both(due to executive meddling), but the cartoon is less so.
Try reading the first Arc issues 1-12, at 7 there's a massive shift in tone and writing in general for the worse, due to the original people who came up with the comic being thrown out. At this point, the comic is essentially given a retcon:
-Caleb is added out of nowhere. The comic straight up says earlier on that the rebels are leaderless, so Vathek switching sides to become their leader in 6 is a big moment... and then in 7, they suddenly had Caleb all along.
-The whisperers somehow go from being a part of Phobos own being to just his creations
-Cedric goes full retard
-Phobos goes from a reclusive who never shows his face to anyone but the worthy to a moustache twirler right out in open.
-Elyon's character is completely changed.
The Nerissa Arc is overall more well-constructed in the show, but I do think what it led to is a point in the comics favor.
In the comics, it was very much where the team found their footing again after the original creatives were shown the door. After improving during the Nerissa Arc, the new comic team peaks with A Crisis on Two Worlds and Trial of the Oracle. War against Ludmoore is the start of the decline, but fairly good in its own right.
The best parts of the W.I.T.C.H. comics are issues 1-6, and then Arc 3-5.
