But I would like a show that is about "rebellion" show also the darker aspects of it.
You know the old saying "Once rebellion is the other sides terroristic uprising?"
We know not really much about how in the world of Amphibia society is structured aside of a few basics (toads are obviously military folks, frogs mostly peasants) and considering that the show did imo an okay job to show that in their own way toads can be slightly decent (a lack of maliciousness coming from some of Grime's soldiers, the obvious fact that yes, a certain amount of military harshness is needed to survive in a world as deadly as Amphibia) and seeing how the show does not seem to paint Grime is too one dimensional as a villain, I would like it if there are also a few more facetts to the social conflict than "frogs good, toads bad, Newts elves".
And one thing that could contribute in a story about rebellion to that if it is shown that there are good AND bad people on both sides.
I said "antifa-frogs" but that was essentially just as a basic stand in for "rebels who use their supposed cause just as an excuse to give into their own vileness".
Which happened.
Just look at every freaking book about the French Revolution.
And I think it would be more or less good if a kids show could actually point out such a point, that even stories like freaking Hunger Games seem to ignore: That sometimes the end does not justify the means and that you need to look also into who you look up to.
