From what i remember Gwen was supposed to be the daughter of a French police chief. I'm guessing they may want to use her at some point in the future and couldn't think of a valid reason for her to move to NY.

Are you shitting me!? Why that didn't happen!? GOD DAMMIT! Why not make her as someone who just travelled to Europe for a vacation with her dad? Her dad could even work for SHIELD as an observer or a consultant, and that's how you introduce Gwen in this

This is why Sony will keep fucking up with this. Can Marvel just get the rights back already

But Sony still has control over the characters, and based on whatever deal they'll be doing will decide on what would appear in the MCU and what will appear in whateve spin-off Sony will do

And they had an opportunity to introduce Gwen, but something clearly must have happened during writing this movie. And it's Sony. They'll fuck up as they have before. The story could have been done better, but didn't really build it right. Like with Peter's spider-sense. It worked differently based on what Infinity War showed

far from home almost had a totally different ending. After defeating Mysterio Peter was going to take his fish bowl and put it on his head and say "at last i have become Mysterio" and slowly morph into him

Would it be more fun if this would be made as Talos's daughter? Appearing as Jess as she flirts with Peter. Would have paid homage to Secret Invasion, but have this version of "Veranke" or whatever be a good guy since the Skrulls are now good
