>>108357044It's one of the things that made me not care about the Champions under Waid, they're always right and everyone instantly loves them and even the whole thing with that group that tried to defame them was not their fault. The team also formed because Kamala, Sam, and Miles were angry that the Avengers wouldn't stay to help woth construction despite the fact that there's people who do that for a living and know how to while they would be more of a hindrance if anything.
New Warriors in comparison, I read after reading Champions and even if it's really dated felt like a comic about actual teenagers more than Champions did. They formed because the Avengers wouldn't take them seriously and they all had good intentions of changing the world and all that, similar to the Champions but the comic allowed for them to screw up. You understand when they stole the Avenger's quinjet that it wasn't right but the Avengers wouldn't help them when they tried to save their friend. Or when they got involved in a coup and helped take down a Dictator only to find out that they caused more problems and aided people who made the country
worse.It dealt with suicide, the consequences of being careless with one's secret identity, some family drama from kids of different social statuses and races, etc... But said drama never overpowered super hero stuff. It was interesting.
Zub's Champions is better than Waid's at least the characters are allowed to be human but still not that interesting to me.
