I'm sure as time goes on, Ebony will find himself redrawn in a more respectful manner.
However, contrary to his minstrel show design, his character is a rather positive portrayal of a negro youth, Ebony being resourceful, smart, loyal and hard working.
I guess for the time being, one needs to take the bad with the good.
