Ian likes his wacky cartoons but it never really seemed to land like SU did with its cast of characters (the thing that really keeps cartoons going and especially lore-based ones). KO is a good boi and I'm sure there's others in the cast that I don't know but I doubt there's a Pearl, Yellow Diamond or Jasper equivalent in there.

Pretty unfortunate if true, but at least we have another season to go and it will probably end up with 60 to 70 something half hours which isn't bad for a show as weird as OK KO. It also probably won't have too much trouble finishing because it's not as plot heavy as a show like Star Vs was.

yeah Dark Plaza was the season 2 finale and episodes 91/92, and we know
1) voice records for episodes 98 and 100 exist
2) one more special (Let's Fight to the End, presumably the season finale)

It seems like boarding ended in december last year (we explicitly know that's when boarders Mira Ong Chua and Danny Ducker left, and we also already knew Ryann Shannon moved onto a different show), and we know board revisionist (revisions coming a bit after boards) Kofi Fiagome left in february. Post-production's still not finished so Ian, Toby, Geneva, and other post production people are still working on the show.

Do you have a link or screencap of Snyder's response? Moreso, I hope that Ian and the crew got to end it on their own terms and the third season won't be cut short. OK K.O. was a fun show that wasn't perfect, but also didn't deserve to be treated like dogshit.

I know it's pretty unpopular opinion here but I agree with you. OK KO is the only current CN cartoon I watch regularly. There's just something about it that I really, really like. Doesn't hurt that it's very heavily inspired by AoStH, which I was obsessed with as a kid, so a big part of it is nostalgia I think. Also it has some of the best sound design of any modern cartoon. That's something that's not talked about too much but it really does have fantastic sound design.

Dont know what that is, but yeah ok ko is the only new cartoon network show in the past few years i like to any degree. Hearing that its getting cancelled is like a kinfe in my back. It's cartooniness was never strong enough to attract the crowd that loves stuff like Rocko or Ed Edd n Eddy. It's lore was never invested enough to attract the crowd that liked stuff like Adventure Time or Steven Universe. It wasn't surreal enough to attract the crowd that enjoys BallMasterz or Superjail. It was never cool enough to attract the Xiaolin Showdown or even original PPG crowd.

It wasn't even cutesy enough to attract the We Bare Bears or Summer Camp Island crowd. It's the most mixed bag "tries to be everything, excels at nothing" bland cartoon around and the fact that it failed to build a fanbase outside of porn artists is indicative of that.

Not really. I take solace in the fact that TTG is finally dying and every SU premiere has beaten it in the ratings but the fact remains that TTG makes more money due to ad revenue and merchandise whereas SU barely aires on the network anymore.

In an interview on youtube Ian Jones-Quartey mentioned how his two biggest influces were Dexters Lab and the original Dragon Ball, so maybe he was trying to attract fans who like 90’s H-B like Dexters Lab, the original PPG,etc.

Also they seemed to target fans of 90’s video games.

They care about youtube and they're CN App, which all kids watch these days. When Warner makes their streaming service, I don't even think CN will get much of anything important because cartoons will be a major part of the service.

SU turned to shit and had horrible scheduling. Uncle Grandpa was cancelled. Clarence was cancelled. TTG peaked. Gumball peaked. Adventure Time ended. Regular Show ended. WBB got old quick. OtGW was a one-off they never replayed. Ben 10 reboot never went anywhere.

And after all of those shows went nowhere, were canned, or ended they were replaced with SUPER mediocre shows aimed at toddlers. Summer Camp Island, Unikitty, Mighty Magiswords, OK KO, Craig of the Creek, Victor & Valentino. Just complete garbage. CN used to have the highest quality stuff out of the Big 3 but now their programming is Nickelodeon-tier.

The show is shit for several reasons, and I just think current CN is just throwing seasons at multiple shows in the hope that they'll hit big early, regardless of quality. Has been said to death and back, but the animation is lackluster as hell (the actual animation and what people confuse as the art style). The art style itself is also kinda trash. While subjectivity exists and plays a part, it somehow manages to have its minimal design still look inconsistent, or straight up bad over different episodes, while seeming to only put more effort into slightly above average facial expressions that last for a second. Like in >>108168688 Sibella looks like she is wearing a damn toupée or a beret to cover a bald spot, and I've no clue why this crossover meant changing body proportions of the characters. The ball hands are part of show style, so that is understandable. Elsa's freaky feet, not so much.
Then you have whole Hero/Villain card system that should clearly be more of a prevalent focus of the show, since it clearly is the gauge of a vast majority of people who are heroes/villains (Dendee/K.O. gets an entire species put into the card system and nothing big comes of it). Instead, it is an afterthought that follows a big episode. It started like a monster of the week thing, but then it kept trying to throw in stuff about other characters and quickly just became a cluster fuck of "heroes" that don't really do shit, with episode focus on characters that end with personality problems being solved, rather than growing as actual heroes or villains.
Worst of all is the incessant wankery of throwbacks and references that would be nice if 99% weren't there just to show "Hey, older people watching should get this!" The super crossover episode had a bunch of one-off showings of old cartoons, but added nothing overall to the show, yet is constantly praised for some reason, despite the actual episode itself being boring.

Piss off. I already said my piece back during season 1. Awful characters, forced references and reaction faces instead of good comedy or storytelling, and no clear idea of what it even wants to be. And nothing improved after season 1, and event episodes like Ghoul School and the Cartoon Network crossover were even worse.

Unless the show had a planned finale, ie SvTFOE, Adventure Time, and maybe Gravity Falls (I think Disney wanted more but Hirsch sperged out so they politely fired him and reluctantly cancelled it)... it was shitcanned and there is no use tiptoeing around it.
