>>108013886Speaking of Cullen Bunn, there was his Aquaman run, where the literally dozens of issues worth of character development and progress made in Parker and Johns' runs were thrown right out the window to make Aquaman an edgy loner again, Mera is replaced by her evil twin sister, and it ends with Aquaman and the Justice League committing wholesale genocide.
The best thing about it is that it's a run that was literally written to be ignored; Bunn realized he'd made a huge mistake before the first issue was dropped and thus wrote it to basically be completely self-contained in almost every way possible; it wraps itself up by the end and puts Aquaman right back to where he was before it started, it lasted just six issues, enough to fit in its own trade to be ignored, and all other writers ignore everything about it (with its inclusion of Tempest being the only exception).
Thinking back on it, half of Aquaman's history prior to the New 52 is a long string of "Oh yeah, that happened"s.
