>>108006766That's what happens when you rewrite the entire season at the last moment, all to make a virtue signal argument without having a clear argument to begin with. You can tell during Diane's argument with Bojack they realized they had no idea what kind of point they were trying to make.
"People who do X are EVIL and WRONG!"
"Main character does X, most of the plot up to this point was him trying to better himself, meaning you want the audience to sympathize with this kind of person."
"Well...uh...it depends on the choices you are making RIGHT NOW."
"So we should be forgiving of those bad people if they start making good choices?
"Uh...no, that's not what we were saying...JUST DO WHAT I TELL YOU TO REEEEEEE"
That shit was painful to watch. Bojack Horseman is the worst main character to try to virtue signal with, and the writers apparently didn't realize it until halfway through the fucking scene. Instead they copped out with "There's no good people or bad people", which defeats the point of them harping on Totally Not Harvey Weinstein for an entire season.
Fucking sad, since S4 was damn solid in comparison. S2 is still king.
