This was one of the first Avengers comics I read. I thought it was funny when they referenced this scene years later. This costume makes me feel pretty nostalgic.
It's a little bit weird when some people act like she's a new character when she's been around for decades.

I don't hate her. She was mostly just pretty bland for most of her comic "life" and when Marvel decided to push her (especially around civil war and secret invasion) the made her look quiiite bad.

Carol herself is fine, it's the push Marvel is giving her that bugs people. It makes no sense, she doesn't deserve it, and it killed all femininity in the character because feminists hate men enjoying things.

From complete osmosis of the character I have the flimsy impression that she was somewhat of an anti hero, hot headed, more brutal than other heros, alcohic, personal demons, etc. Is that overstating it?
