Superman has never been as popular as Batman for one simple reason; Batman had to actually work for his goals whereas everything is handed to Superman. Batman has no powers, just training, smarts and determination. This is why people in real life look up to Batman. He’s what we can all be while Superman is unobtainable fantasy.
