Sure, but to put it a different way, for the sake of keeping any sense of narrative cohesion there needs to be rules applied at the very least to unpowered street-fighters. If Damien was suddenly exactly as skilled and experienced, via magical bullshit, as Batman, then I would still expect Batman to win because they are human and he has the size and weight advantage that far outranks the small agility advantage Damien 'might' have as it doesn't make up for the lack of reach, durability and strenght.
Your image related can be explain within the narrative as Batman having a (not particularly rare) moment of arrogance/overconfidence or even feeling under the weather/not at his best. She breaks his arm as an opening move that took him by surprise. He's not exactly winning after that no matter what.
Then again from the costume it's also Rebirth. I've not been impressed with either Marvel or DCs writing in many, many years. Post-Crisis DC and pre-2010 Marvel had their stupid moments, and their terrible runs, but both comapnies seem to have reversed it to having everything be terrible with the occasional speck of gold in all the shit.
