>>107240682Dreamworks had a deal with Netflix where basically every movie they made got a two-season tie-in show that was put into production before the movies were even released, part of a marketing strategy they tried that's based on what Nick has been doing (pioneered with Jimmy Neutron, then used for Barnyard and attempted with Wonder Park though it seems the show was delayed due to what a dumpster fire the movie's production was)
It didn't really work out for Dreamworks, they made shows based on Turbo and Mr. Peabody & Sherman too and those both unperformed at the box office to the point where they never would have gotten spin-offs if they hadn't already been working on them, Home didn't do much better either. Doesn't seem like it was effective at promoting the material or getting a franchise going.
