>>107199526>TomasiSuperman>hokey>Let's not pretend that Tomasi can write a decent plot or characterisation outside those out of context feelsy pages.Looking at that picture let's not pretend that you don't need to be on antidepressants or to speak with someone.
Are we forgetting that his first Batman and Robin arc was about Bruce and Damian recognizing their differences with Damian going so far as to kill Nobody to save his father? A murder that was not forgotten as Nobody's daughter ended up seeking Damian out in a completely separate book and attempting to exact revenge on him.
Even his Superman, a book I think you personally just mind the common sense premise of, constantly acknowledged that things aren't always perfect and that it falls on each of us to be the best we can be to not be torn down by the unpleasantness around us, as we seek to be the best people we can be, and make our own happiness. But no, I'm sure the adopted son of Jonathan and Martha Kent, the symbol of hope and optimism within the DC universe, was going to take his biological son to a small town, and while raising that son, a context where his abilities that the foolish simplify as Solve Alls are useless, they would go on countless dark, gritty, complicated, morally grey adventures, because anything less would be hokey, right?
Just because you don't like something, doesn't make it bad, and the same goes for an enjoyment prohibition caused by your own personal baggage. I was in every storytime of the Tomasi Superman run, and for the few irrational anons who couldn't get past criticizing Tomasi because his stories were simple which made him a hack, the rest of the thread enjoyed the hell out of the heart within the simplicity, and how even during darker times the stories adhered to tones, and elicited feelings true to the title character. Didn't like it? Fine. Say that. But calling it bad because it wasn't your cup of tea is bullshit.
Hope you enjoyed the benefit of the doubt. Bye now.
