Anon, no one likes hal's "charisma" outside of middle aged fucking losers and clark's charisma is nice human fellow with the powers of a god...which no one is able to do correctly in media anymore.
There is not single solitary bit of decent personality between them and there's a reason why they both have bloated as fuck casts and spend almost no time having solo adventures.
Having her be a shitty knockoff in terms of personality of male characters is what people who don't really like or believe in female characters do.
As a matter of fact, the people who do that don't actually understand the males they think they are parroting in terms of characterization and know for a fact that they can't make a good female character period.
Carol Danvers quite honestly has fuck and all going for her in terms of personality and now in terms of visual iconography because of the costume change and bland actress choice.
Women can not pull off the same kind of screen chewing gravitas as men. No matter how hard they try to mimic men. It's just not going to work.
And when they try, it comes off as awful and offputting. >>106795577
Anon, complexity =/= good.
Making it overly complex means that the designer can't actually create something iconic enough to be memorized. They make up for lack of talent and personality with too much lines and pockets and guns and shit going on.
"Brevity is the soul of wit" or something to that effect.
The same applies to costume designs.
Carol's costume is simple memorable iconic and does the job.
Her new overly designed eye assault of a costume is an attempt to give her a personality and heroic presence without actually having to do any actual work when it comes to making her a likeable bankable character
And it shows.
