There's a game I've been playing on-and-off for a few years that the (already infamously hypocritical) developers recently destroyed the economy of. Prices are up, gains are down. Having become so attached to the small, tight-knit community, neither of these things were enough to drive me away.
The effort required to make decent progress from any skill-level is now excessive. Rather than spend my leisure time on what is essentially a second job, I've been occasionally counterfeiting the in-game currency using a duplication glitch. I've reported said glitch multiple times in great detail including exact steps and coordinates, and none of the locations have been corrected. It has a canned fix that can be executed in-game instantly, by the way.
I typically do barter with NPCs in the mornings, when nobody else is around. This is the only action I perform in the process that the game documents. The profits I gain for the time I spend playing should have tipped someone off by now, but that's assuming anyone's paying attention.
At the end of the day, it's just a game, but I'm not a better person for taking advantage of it.
