>>105789926>>105799169Sequels are always for the money, it's pretty rare when they outdo the original film itself but still pleasant when they do just about as good. Even the original film left room for sequelbait at the very end with the Duplo blocks.
It's honestly impossible for a sequel to give you the feelings of an original piece. You went into the original with absolutely nothing to go on and got dazzled by it, while you went into the sequel with the base knowledge of the original film so it couldn't give you that fresh feeling of being introduced to the MCs again.
A sequel serves it purpose if it's financially successful, even if it's flawed or actually terrible. The box office bux are all that matters, but generally the filmmakers still want to do a good job so they can keep milking their IP cow until it's dry.
